George was born on July 31, 1959, in Oklahoma City. He was the second child of Stanley Dale MacAfee and Emily Gladys (England) MacAfee. He grew up in Princeton, New Jersey until the age of fourteen. In 1974, he moved to Austin, Texas.
Scott graduated from Westlake High School in 1978. He worked as a fire fighter, in real estate and land surveying throughout his life. He recently retired in 2021.
In 1986, Scott married Misti Elaine Jones and was blessed with a daughter, Meagan, in 1988. He then met Tammy Lynn Moore, and they were married in 1991. She brought her children, Katie, and Ryan, into the marriage. Later, daughters Amy and Emily were born into the family. Scott and Tammy recently celebrated their 31st wedding anniversary. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.
Scott had an incredible love for Mopar cars, especially the 1970 Challenger, and 70s and 80s rock music. He had family ties to Hamilton County, where his family ranch, originally owned under a land grant since 1868, is located. He loved to hunt and spend time with his family there. He was known for his adoration of chocolate, his larger-than-life personality, and a deep love for dogs.
Scott was preceded in death by parents, Stanley MacAfee and Emily MacAfee.
Scott is survived by wife, Tammy MacAfee; brother, James MacAfee (Sue); daughters, Katie Stufflebeam (Matt), Meagan Allinger (Daniel), Amy Mercer (Nick), Emily Ragan (Todd); and son, Ryan Hegefeld (Stormi).
