Our sweet “Ever Loving Dad”…as he called himself…began his journey toward the light Friday afternoon…as his wife, daughter, son, son in law, and nieces thanked him, loved him and released him. After several years of incredibly hard ups and downs, he is at last at peace and no longer in pain. The hardest, yet most beautiful, part was watching our mom, his wife Betty, tell him goodbye after 61 years of marriage plus their time together during courtship…so much love shared.
Memorial Mass: 2pm Monday, October 16, 2023 at St. Louis Catholic Church, 2001 N. 25th Street, Waco, Texas 76708.
He grew up in Waco the grandson of German immigrants…during a very difficult time in the world. He educated himself, provided our family with a stable upbringing, loved us unconditionally, and guided us along the paths that were right for us unselfishly.
He retired in 2003 from Smith Pump Co after 25 years of being a successful, top producing salesperson. He loved racing his quarter horses in several states, resulting in many great wins!
Survivors are his wife, Betty, the love of his life; son, Richard & husband, Chad; daughter, Shannon Wade; granddaughters, Katy & Lauryn Wade; brother, Ricky & wife, Judy; cousins, nieces, & nephews.
Special thanks go to the nurses and aides who took such good care of him.
He always called Mom his guardian angel as she took care of him when his health was failing…we have no doubts it is he who is the angel guarding us now. ❤️

Print Obituary & Condolences
So sorry for your loss. I remember Mr. Bettinger helping Betty around the grounds of her Jack and Jill preschool. My daughter Staley had a great start there for her growing years. My condolences to the family with comforting prayers.
Betty and family;
Lynn and I worked together for many years and I considered him a close friend. The world will be at a loss with his passing.
My condolences to his family, I will miss them all.
Even though I had not seen my cousin in many many years I always remember what a nice and kind person he was to his cousins. Many blessings for him and many blessings for Betty and his family. A loss of such a loved one is always so difficult, but knowing they are at peace in the arms of the Lord is very special.
Even though it has been many many years since I have seen my cousin I always remember how kind and nice He was to his little cousins. Blessings for his eternal rest and blessings to Betty and his family.
Dear Betty Marie and Family,
We were so sorry to hear of Lynn’s passing. Although we haven’t kept in very close touch through
the years, you have always been a part of our family. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family
at this difficult time.

Curtice Ann and James High
Mrs Betty, Shannon, Katy, Lauren, and the rest of the family Maurice and I want you all to know how much we love you guys and Mr Bettinger. You’re such amazing neighbors and it’s been such a pleasure knowing that we can always count on each other. You’re all in our prayers as you go through this difficult time. We hope that you’ll find comfort in Revelation 21:3-4 because we know that you’re hearts are heavy with grief. Please don’t hesitate to let us know if there’s anything that we can do for you guys. Remember we’re just a phone call away and we love you all.

Remember Lynn to be a sweet cousin. Even though I didn’t see him in later years, I appreciated that he would spare some time at family events to talk to
me-being the youngest. He has so many loved ones that have gone to heaven before him. I am sure that my mother, Evelyn Bettinger, was there to greet you with open arms. May God bless your family and friends. Donna Burke Richardson ✝️🙏
Lynn and I had fun together as teenagers although I lived in Cameron. As we grew older, each went their separate ways. Many times, I thought about getting together with him, but never did. I missed a lot! He had a wonderful family that I wished i had known. We were cousins….our parents were siblings.
