Steven Matthew Felan passed away July 3, 2024.  He was born May 8, 1978 in Clifton Texas to Delia and Louis Felan.

Memorial Visitation and Rosary:  6pm to 8pm Tuesday, July 9th at Lake Shore Funeral Home, 5201 Steinbeck Bend, Waco 76708

Steve was a graduate of McGregor High School, received his Associates Degree from MCC, and a Bachelor Degree in Business Management from Tarleton State University.

Steve is survived by his wife, Leah Lowe Felan:  sons, Cassius Louis (Cash) and Charlie Rey of Waco and Steven James Louis and his wife Lauren of Oglesby; granddaughter, Madison Brielle; parents, Delia and Louis Felan of Meridian; brothers, Alejandro and his wife Celine of Austin and Nicolas and his wife Candice of Waco; paternal grandmother, Herminia Felan of Meridian; aunt and godmother, Janie Felan of Waco; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Beth and Chuck Lowe of Waco; nieces and nephews, Michaela and Chris Levario, Benjamin Lowe, Kaitlyn Lowe and Madison Lowe; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and other relatives as well as the Sin Suerte MC and the biker community members he greatly loved and appreciated.

Steve was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Martha and Nicolas Vasquez; paternal grandfather, Alex Felan; uncle, godfather and namesake, Steve G. Felan; grew to be like an uncle, Ramond  “Mo” Vasquez; and other uncles, aunts and cousins.

We would also like to acknowledge everyone who has been here and supported Leah, Cash, and Charlie during these difficult times with your presence, your encouraging words, your support, and your obvious love.  Qualities that we know Steve possessed and demonstrated through his life, his spirit of giving, his care for the plights of others, and his ability to show to so many people in those communities who have witnessed his servant heart.  A great deal of this service has been the center of the biker community and those who faithfully and generously run to the aid of anyone in distress, need, or lack of support.  Hug a biker!

In this spirit, we ask that anyone wishing to honor Steve, to do so by contributing to Shepherd’s Heart in Waco, one of his favorite charitable organizations he, Sin Suerte MC, and the rest of the biker clubs often supported.

We also recognize and thank others such as friend of the family, Melissa Talley, life saver for the family during the pandemic and who had a instrumental role in Steve achieving his bachelor’s in business management degree at Tarleton State University – Go Texans!

  13. First met Steve through my father Rocky Staats, a teacher at McGregor. Shortly afterwards, I moved up to high school and played football with Steve and also played football with his younger brother, Nick. A life long friend and a hard one to say goodbye. Steve always checked in with the family and provided words of encouragement and an incredible amount of optimism in my life. Truly if ever a friend to Steve, it was lifelong friendship he gave. Hung out several times after high school when our paths would cross. Always grateful to see Steve. Hopefully you and Rocky can finally catch up on some jokes. Until we meet again my friend, RIP!

  14. I am deeply saddened by the news of Steve’s passing. He was a cherished classmate and friend, whose vibrant spirit and kindness touched everyone he met. It It is incredibly painful to lose someone so young.

Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. Steve will be greatly missed, and his memory will forever remain in our hearts.

He took time to come to my Dads funeral this past February. It meant a lot at the time. He asked to sit and talk over a cigar, and that meant even more.

    With heartfelt sympathy,

    Joe Diaz
