Funeral Service:  10am Tuesday, September 10th at Lake Shore Funeral Home

Born in Waco, Texas to Irene and Joe Bedford Linkous, Sandy lived most of her life in Texas. She was an accountant for many years and a jack of all trades in the office. Her coworkers from her various jobs remember her as a caring and kind spirit.

Her true calling and what gave her the most joy was being a mother and grandmother. The biggest smile on her face was when children were in her lap playing and laughing. Sandy loved Dr. Pepper, reading books and genealogy.

She was preceded in death by her father, Joe Bedford Linkous; mother, Irene Kohl Linkous; and brother, Troy David Linkous.  She is survived by her daughters, Veronika Ramirez and Melinda Hilbert; brother, Tom Linkous; and grandchildren, Aubrey Ramirez, Ethan Ramirez, twins Jackson and Juliet Ramirez, and Brooks and Evangeline Hilbert.

The love she has fostered will live on our hearts to infinity and beyond.

I hate hearing this. I remember us having a blast at converges listening to people on the phones. Sandy you were one of the real ones. The most beautiful heart and spirit a true sweetheart. I love you fly high ❤️

  4. Dear Veronika, Melinda,
Sometime through the years we lost contact with your mom. We just heard she was ill a few days before she passed on. We are so sorry for your loss. Your mom was a jewel.
We loved her smile, her wit and fun-loving spirit. She had a very big heart that seemed to exude kindness. She was a devoted Primary teacher that gave lots of love, time and talent to the children at church. Her mom, Irene, and her brother, Troy, were dear to us as well and we remember how she loved and cared for them (especially how she cared for them as their health declined) and her care for all of her family. Your obituary says the calling that gave her the most joy was that of mother and grandmother. How true. Her eyes beamed with pride and joy when she spoke of you all.
There is a special place in heaven for her–surrounded by children and by her loved ones.

  5. Sandy was a sweet, loving friend and I’ll miss her. She was always ready to help a friend in need even if it was just listening while you vented. Sometimes life got in our way of visiting with each other, but when we did it was non-stop talking. I remember one such occasion last year. We went to lunch at Cracker Barrel and that lasted through an extra cup of coffee, then we adjourned to the rockers on the porch and rocked and talked for a long time. Total “lunch” time — 4 hours 15 minutes — and never a dull moment! Rest in peace, my friend.

  6. Sandy – you will be missed! I am grateful to have called you my friend! Heaven has a new Angel! Watch over us all!

  7. My dear friend, I shall miss our wonderful lunches. Love you and miss you.

  9. Janette Lavender (Nancy Kohl’s daughter)

Prayers for peace and comfort for all the family. Sandy, give Mom a hug from me when you see her. Will see you again one day!

  10. A kind soul has left this earth. She is now in the loving arms of our heavenly father. Sandy you will be greatly missed. I don’t like goodbyes so I won’t say goodbye, but instead I will say until we meet again my dear friend.

  11. We are so sorry to hear about Sandy. She was our downstairs neighbor for 5 years. The sweetest neighbor we’ve ever had. My husband and I thought of her as a bonus family member and she said the same about us!! We’re truly saddened by her quick loss, when we had seen her last, at the beginning of this Summer and she was looking amazing with all the weight she had lost. Neil, Casey (myself) and our dog, Bender, will always remember you! We love you Sandy!!
