Jeff Torian, 68, passed away at Scott & White Hospital in Temple, Texas, on Sunday, September 8, 2024, after a long illness. He was surrounded by loved ones.
Jeff was born in Houston, Texas, to Arthur Frank Torian and Kathryn Elizabeth (Goodman) Torian. He was a longtime member of Sunset United Methodist Church in Pasadena, Texas. He graduated from Milby High School in Houston, and attended one semester at Lon Morris College in Jacksonville, Texas. His entire work life was in the grocery business, except for the one day he tried with a construction company. He started his grocery career at the Oak Meadows Womack’s Minimax in Houston, and the last twenty plus years with Kroger’s in the Houston area until his retirement.
Jeff never met a stranger. He was a people person. He made friends easily with everyone he met, not only at the grocery stores where he worked, but all over the Houston area and in Waco in his final years. He had a quick wit and he never ran out of jokes, which he was always willing to share with anyone who would listen. He loved going on trips, especially to Colorado. He had many other interests, especially food, DoorDash, football, and TV. He just enjoyed life.
Jeff is survived by two brothers, Gary Torian and wife, Carol, and Kenneth Torian and wife, Mary; and one sister, Evelyn Starkey. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins, and many, many friends.
Jeff was preceded in death by his mother and father.

So sorry to read this about Jeff’s Passing. Always loved Jeff and he always loved jokes.
He was a kind, sweet man. We enjoyed being neighbors of the family in Houston. Love and prayers to all of you.
Jeff and I both attended Milby High School and were friends way back “in the day”…. Jeff and I lost touch after high school but both went on to have careers in the grocery industry. I met up with Jeff in 2000 while at a meeting at the West Gray Kroger. Two years later I transferred to that store and Jeff and I worked together for the next seven years in the same store! Jeff was the best…. He was respected by his fellow team members and suppliers and loved by his customers. Jeff and I were friends as well as co-workers and he was a valuable member of our Kroger Team. We lost touch after he transferred to our Loretta location.
Our prayers for peace go out to his family at this difficult time.
Uncle Jeff’s greatest gift to us was his ability to spread joy. His presence was a constant reminder to find humor in life’s situations and to approach each day with a smile. The warmth and happiness he brought to our lives will be deeply missed, but the memories of his laughter and kindness will continue to bring comfort and smiles for years to come.
While we mourn his loss, we find solace in knowing that Uncle Jeff is no longer in pain. His legacy of laughter, love for football, and unwavering positivity will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. May we honor his memory by embracing life with the same joy and enthusiasm that he showed us every day.
I am very sad to hear of Jeff’s passing. He was a good person and always made me laugh at the store, Everyday he came to work he would push his little basket around the whole day he was at work and never had anything in it. He would go get lunch and we would eat and laugh and tell jokes. Some Jokes he would tell you more than once and we would say Jeff you told us that joke yesterday and he would say well it’s a different day and we would laugh. Jeff you will be missed and. Now you can rest because I know you have been suffering for awhile and glad to be your friend and co worker. Rest In Peace Jeff!
