Anita Romo, 79, passed away Tuesday October 15, 2019 in her home. A memorial service will be held on October 19, 2019 at 3pm at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses 4911 N. IH 35 Waco. Anita was born December 27, 1939 in Edcouch, TX to Pedro and Victoria Salas. Anita migrated throughout her life before eventually settling down in Lacy Lakeview where she was married to the love of her life Arthur Romo Jr. for over 33 years before he preceded her in death in 2014.
Anita dedicated her life to serving Jehovah as one of his Witnesses when she was baptized on January 9, 1965 and remained faithful to Jehovah before falling asleep in death. Anita made her living by cleaning houses for many people around Waco before she began working as a custodian at TSTC for 12 years. After leaving TSTC, she spent the remaining years of her life as a homemaker to her loving husband, and then cared for the many extensions of her family whom she loved and cherished. As the family matriarch, she was a mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt. She has made a deep impression on our lives that we will carry with us in her memory until we see her again.
Anita was preceded in death by her son David Estrada; daughter Delia Estrada; parents Pedro and Victoria Salas; and husband Arthur Romo Jr. Those left to cherish her memory are her four children, Tomas Estrada and his wife Maria Estrada, Pete Estrada and his wife Sula Estrada, Sally Estrada, and Ramiro Estrada and his wife Janie Estrada; 13 grandchildren; and over 15 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Guadalupe (Salas) Perez, Elia (Salas) Estrada, Elida (Salas) Diaz, Mary (Salas) Mendoza and her husband Willie Mendoza, and Enedina (Salas) Avila and her husband Santos Avila; her brother, Pedro Salas and his wife Linda Salas; and many nieces and nephews.
