Ruby Lee Bridges

Ruby Lee Ditto Bridges, 83, of Woodway, passed away Monday, July 13, 2020 at Ridgecrest Retirement Center in Woodway.

Ruby was born July 2, 1937 in Clifton to Eli and Nancy Ditto. She married Ray Leo Bridges on September 29, 1956. She and Ray taught children’s Sunday school at First Baptist China Spring for several years. She was currently a member of Park Lake Drive Baptist Church where she and Ray had been active in the Busy Beaver program, a program they both were very proud of.

Ruby had many titles. She was a child of God, wife, mom, sister, aunt and friend. The title that she loved more than anything was Nana. She loved and was so proud of every one of her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Douglas Ditto.

Ruby is survived by her husband of 63 years, Ray; daughters, Karen Hixson and husband, Ricky and Kim Kessler and husband, Jonny; grandchildren, Justin Hixson and wife, Robin, Amy Bennett and husband, John, Jessica Elkins and husband, Kyle and Ryan Kessler and wife, Katie; sisters, Doris Light and Helen Harris; six great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandbaby; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Ruby’s memory may be directed to Park Lake Drive Baptist Church, 3701 N. 27th Street, Waco, TX 76708
