David Andrew McCormick, 59, passed away Tuesday, August 24, 2021.
Service Information: Visitation will be held on Monday, August 30, 2021 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Lake Shore Funeral Home. He will be laid to rest on Tuesday, August 31, 2021. The service will be at Lakeshore Funeral Home beginning at 10 a.m. and burial to follow at Moore Cemetery in Chalk Bluff. Click here for the Live Stream
David Andrew “Andy” McCormick entered into heavenly rest on August 24, 2021. He was born November 17, 1961, in Waco, TX to Billy Ray McCormick of Waco, Tx and Edna Helen Rachui of Marlin, TX. He was the youngest of seven children.
Andy went to Sharyland High School and then went on to attend Pan American University. After graduation he then went on to join the military and served his country in the US Air Force.
Andy met the love of his life, Monica Silva, at Pan American University. They married December of 1986. He and Monica moved to Cheyenne, Wyoming where he served at F. E Warren Air Force Base.
After serving in the Air Force, Andy began his career as an educator and coach. He had a love for sports and educating young minds. He was known to some as Papa Bear or Papa Bear Mac.
Andy also had a huge heart for God and love serving others. He was an active member and deacon at Chalk Bluff Baptist Church.
Andy is preceded in death by his parents, Billy and Edna McCormick. He is survived by his wife Monica, and his three children: Natalie and husband Johnie Wilson, Stephanie McCormick, and Joshua McCormick, all from Waco, TX. He is also survived by his sister, Donna and husband Jerry Davis-Waco, Dennis and wife Lynn McCormick-McAllen, TX, Carol and husband Jim Nix-McKinney, TX, Dale and wife Ellen McCormick-Waco, TX, Penny and husband Joe Rosas-Katy, TX, and Billy and wife Patty McCormick-Arlington, TX. One grandchild, Evan Wilson and countless other family members.
Pallbearers will be Mark Adams, Larry Nelson, Lawrence Bright, Mike Davis, Johnie Wilson and, Brian McCormick. Honorary pallbearers will be his brothers Billy, Dale, and Dennis McCormick and nephews, Greg Davis, Kevin and Dustin McCormick and Chiddy Nwaeze.

After reading about this tragedy and looking at the obituary I was discussing with my husband, he grew up with Andy and his brothers and sisters. We are so very sorry to hear of this passing. Dane and Carol Owens
