Stefan Erik Honum passed away peacefully and surrounded by love in Waco, Texas, on June 9th 2022.
He was born in Auckland, New Zealand, in 1951 to Elaine Anderson (née Kelly) of Auckland and Jens Honum of Denmark. A fifth generation New Zealander on his mother’s side, he was raised on the beautiful North Shore of Auckland before moving with his mother and stepfather to Santa Monica, California.
Stefan returned to Auckland in his early adulthood and married Pamela Chester, also of Auckland. Known to some as Steve, he had a long and fulfilling career in advertising, including serving as a manager for the New Zealand TV Guide.
He was a deeply loyal, kind, dependable, courageous, and generous person. An excellent and passionate musician, he played guitar throughout his life and always sought opportunities to share the love of music with others.
He is preceded in death by Elaine, Pamela, and his brothers, Simon and Richard Blyth.
Stefan was the loving and wonderful father to two daughters, Alaine (Lainey) Booth and Chloe Honum, nephew to Anna, uncle to Jesse, Justin, and Bianca, and grandad to Charlie, Ryder, and Dashel, all of whom will cherish his memory forever.

Thinking of you, Chloe, and Jacob and your entire family. Comfort and hugs…
Hello Stefan ‘s family,
My name is Rita and I want to extend my condolences to you! Stefan was my supervisor at Pennsylvania Life Ins. in Santa Monica. He was the best, so kind, gentle, beautiful personality, always was talking about his family and dear daughter at the time I believe Chole was the only one and she was a toddler.
I dreamt about Stefan just last night and so I googled him only to learn he has passed away! I was shocked, and also to learn that he was living in Texas. I thought that he had moved back to New Zealand when he left the company.
Rest In Peace!!! You were a good person! God Bless!
I send my deepest and most sincere condolences to your family Stefan. I send my best wishes, thoughts, and prayers to your soul and spirit my friend.
You were the coolest cat on the coast. A champion surfer in your youth, a swinging guitarist ever since. Always a thoughtful and humble soul.
I am fortunate to be your friend, I’ll see you around.
