Patsy Jean (Richard) Barrington

Patsy Jean (Richard) Barrington was born August 11, 1940 and received her angel wings Thursday, July 21, 2022.

Visitation: 6 – 8PM Thursday, July 28 at Lake Shore Funeral Home Chapel.

Funeral Service: 10AM Friday, July 29 at Lake Shore Funeral Home Chapel. Burial to follow at Oakwood Cemetery.

She was a fighter from day one. Her favorite color was yellow because that was the first color she saw at the gentle age of three. One of  the first things she saw was a yellow flower. She overcame all of her physical challenges enough to achieve the seventh grade. A few years later she met the love of her life, though at the time she didn’t realize it yet. In 1962 he  convinced her to marry him and that began their story. In 1970 they adopted a cute little toddler named Benny. In 1975 against all odds she gave birth to a rambunctious baby girl that they named Shannon. She loved and took care of her little family while never letting her challenges slow her down. After thirty eight years together on this earth, her husband was called to Heaven.  After fighting every battle, always in prayer, and making doctors look silly with their predictions and limitations, her and God decided it was time for her to come Home.

During her time on this earth she never met a stranger and she always showed God’s love. She had so many people that called her mom or mama Jean and she loved each one of them like they were her own. She loved traveling, especially to her favorite place, Branson, Missouri. It was almost like a second home with all the love she received.

She is survived by her daughter Shannon, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews,  great great nieces and nephews, and so many relatives and friends close enough to be relatives.

She was preceded in death by her husband, David; son, Benny; parents, AJ and Anness Richard; sister, Betty; niece, Kayla; great nephew, Ricky, and other loved ones.

The family would like to send a special thank you to Compassus Hospice. They treated Patsy like she was their mother and she treated them like her kids. Thank you to her special caregivers who took such wonderful care of her and loved on her.

Clay and Tina you were so much more to her than friends, you were her Branson kids. Anyone that met her always assumed you were her blood children the way she bragged on y’all.
