Print Obituary & Condolences
My condolences to the May family. I had the privilege of knowing James May, when we were stationed on Guam. I looked at him as a big brother. One of my favorite memories of him is playing in a torrential downpour, running and slipping and icing in the grass by our dorm. I last spoke to May, last year, promising to visit. I’m sadden that I will never make that visit. I have a videotape with him showing off his tattoo of Adriana’s name. May your hearts be conforted by the special memories with Him..May God give you the peace that passes all understanding. Sincerely, Dewi Clark.

There are no words to accurately express what James meant to so many of us, his basketball friends. When we met in Guam and I learned of his “legend” I knew that I would have a friend for life in my Taurus brother and backcourt running mate. Now, I cannot believe that he is gone but I do thank God for allowing me to share some of the best times of my life with him. We had Guam and then we were lucky enough to run into each other again in Germany just last year. James, you were always my guy from the moment I met you and you will be even in the after-life. You have friends WORLDWIDE who are shedding tears knowing that we have to wait to hear your contagious laugh again. Thank you for sharing your athleticism and your laughter with me. Love you brother. Rest now knowing that God needed a point guard up there for some big game and he chose you. As I sit here fighting the cancer war, I know that you would tell me to continue to fight with the words you used to always say to me “Lew! LET”S GO!” Miss you brother
