Christina was born November 30, 1966 in Leavenworth, Kansas to Mr and Mrs Everett. She was married on April 9, 1997, to the love of her life, Dwayne Vestal. Her greatest treasures were her two boys, Nicholas Dwayne, age 26 and Michael Anthony, age 20.
The family moved to Texas in 2013 where the boys attended school in Lorena, TX. Due to a job relocation, the family moved to Tennessee in early 2017 where they made their home in a wonderful community of friends.
Christina, also known to many as “Jo”, was an excellent listener and loved to hear about anyone’s day. Even as the pain grew, she would constantly lift others up by sending beautiful messages/pics to brighten their day. Jo truly cared and made sure everyone knew how much she loved them.
Jo worked various places throughout her career. Her last position afforded her the ability to work from home. She truly loved the friendships she formed with the retail management company until her illness kept her from being able to continue. Jo loved to pamper herself by getting her nails done. Those that loved Jo, knew that this was the only treat she would take time to do. She enjoyed being outside, sitting on the back porch watching the birds and the world around her. She would take such great care of her numerous house plants and loved working in her garden.
Christina Ann “Jo” Vestal was a true friend, a light to her husband, a best friend to her sons, a woman of grace and faithful follower of Christ. The highlight of her life was supporting her husband and boys in all of their activities but most of all she LOVED unconditionally and forgave unconditionally.
Christina was preceded in death by her parents, Eldon and Ann Everett.
Christina leaves behind her loves: Dwayne Vestal and sons, Nicholas and Michael Vestal of Tennessee; sister, Annette Grooms and Family of Springfield, MO; brother, Darrell Steenrod and Family of Saint Clair, Missouri; cousin, Lori Payeur and Family of Leavenworth, Kansas; her in-laws, John and Beverly Hanselman of Burleson, TX, Jimmy Vestal of Panama, Judy Vestal of East TX; four sister-n-laws and four brother-n-laws, all of TX; a host of nieces and nephews, as well as Mary Cook and Julie Burkhart, who were lifelong friends from Kansas.
Our family would like to thank everyone for their compassion and love. The support has been beyond anything we could imagine. In addition, we would like to extend our deepest gratitude to the nurses and staff of Alive Hospice in Nashville , TN.
Place of Service: Wortham Bend Cemetery , 614 Oak Grove Loop; China Spring, TX 76633
