Mrs. Jennifer Ann Harris of Waco, Texas, passed away Sunday, May 14, 2023.
Visitation: 5 – 7PM Friday, May 19 at Lake Shore Funeral Home
Celebration of Life: 2PM Saturday, May 20 at Lake Shore Funeral Home
Jennifer was one of nine children born to the late Mr. Otis McGuire Sr., and Mrs. Rosa McGuire November 16, 1951 in Birmingham, AL. She attended school in the Birmingham School System. Jennifer married Mr. Michael McCurtis in 1971 and to this union two children were born, DeJoris and Michael Jr. After divorcing, she later married Mr. Alfred Harris April 15, 1988 and to this union a son was born, Aljam. Jennifer was a faithful member of Greater Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church Waco, TX. She was employed for over 20 years at the Hilton Hotel until her passing.
She was preceded in death by her father and two sisters: Mr. Otis McGuire, Sr., Barbara Fields and Sharon Perdue.
Jennifer leaves to cherish her memory: A devoted partner Alfred Harris: Waco, TX; her precious mother Mrs. Rosa McGuire: Birmingham, AL; her dedicated daughter DeJoris McCurtis: Tulsa, OK; Two sons Michael McCurtis Jr. (Yvette) and Aljam Harris (Shannon): San Antonio, TX; Three bonus sons: Creighton and, Philnelius Harris and Joseph Turpin–McCurtis (Ruth): Washington D.C; Two bonus daughters: KeYona Turpin–McCurtis: Washington, D.C and Bria Williams: San Antonio, TX; Four sisters: Ethel Steele (James), Carolyn McGuire(Charles), Norma Jean Lee and Carmen McCall, all of Birmingham, AL; Two brothers: Otis McGuire, Jr. (Pam) and Christopher McGuire (Brenda), Birmingham, AL: Eight grandchildren: Jordan, Jerrell and Jared McCurtis: Tulsa, OK, Tai and Toryano McCurtis: San Antonio, TX, Aljam Jr., Courtney and Jaycob Harris: San Antonio, TX, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

I only worked with Mr. Harris for a few weeks but she was a lovely lady an absolute sweetheart. I was heartbroken when I got the news of her passing. Rest in peace, Ms. Harris.
