David Anthony Canada, 53, of Waco passed away at his home in Waco, Tuesday, June 4th.
A celebration of David’s life will be held, 10AM, Saturday, June 8th at Lake Shore Funeral Home.
David was born on September 7, 1970 in Galveston, Texas and raised by his parents Evelyn and Lewis Canada, Sr. Aside from a couple of years in Galveston, David was raised exclusively in Reisel, Texas where he attended schools within the Reisel ISD, eventually graduating in 1989.
He was an avid gamer and loved playing games with his boys. His favorite game was “Final Fantasy.” David loved music, and animals, but he loved nothing more than his family and doing typical “Dad” stuff. He wrestled with physical ailments most of his life, but continued to worship his Lord and Savior.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis Canada, Sr., and Evelyn (Dennard) Canada.
Left behind to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 31 years, Nancy (Parker) Canada; children, Casey Canada, Logan Canada (Ariel), and Ava Canada; brother, Lewis Canada, Jr. (Mary); sister, Beverly Byers (Thomas “Roo”); best friends, Tom Galloway, and Aaron Derrick; numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, cherished friends, and his adored Rhodesian Ridgeback, “Will”.

So sorry for the loss of a kind hearted person like David. Tom and I were just talking the other day about his friendship with David. I gained a lot of insight to who David was and how much he meant to Tom. I wish David and I had got to know each other better. I always enjoyed his quirky ways and sense of humor and he will be missed!

David and I were good friends back at Riesel High School but, unfortunately, did not keep in touch after I moved away my senior year. I remember his fantastic sense of humor and kind demeanor. We both had a tendency to cut up too much in class! You and your family will remain in my prayers.
