Annell “Ann” Shaw, 86, left this earthy life on Monday, November 4, 2024 with her beloved husband, Robert by her side.
Funeral Service: 11AM Saturday, November 9 at Parkview Baptist Church, 1100 Lakeshore Drive, Waco 76708. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
Ann managed the JC Penny Styling Salon for the last 20 years of her career including being a cosmetology instructor there. Those were great fun years. She loved her 27 stylists like family. They spent many hours together during work but also after hours. She was so proud of her “girls” and attributed the success of the salon to her stylists. She witnessed many of them reach their highest goals.
She married Robert Shaw in December of 2002 in which she was blessed with 21years. They loved to travel places and spend time with their friends. She loved gardening and watching her flowers bloom. Anything pretty, Ann loved. Her housekeeping was pristine. Her fun pretties and dishes were always fun to look at throughout her home. She always made you feel important no matter who you were. She and Robert shared their love for the Lord at Bellmead Calvary for many years. The last 4 years they became members at Parkview Baptist Church. They loved their close church family and spent many hours fellowshipping, attending Sunday school and many other fun activities.
During her days after retirement, she spent countless hours at The Atrium nursing home volunteering. She loved getting to know all of the residents as well as the staff. She was always there to greet the nurses with a big smile. Being there brought much joy to Ann’s life. Everyone there became a very big part of her life and thought of them as family.
Ann was a very generous person and giving was her love language. She absolutely adored her friends and loved sharing her love for the Lord with them. She had a servant’s heart and had great faith in the Lord. To know her was to love her.
Ann was preceded in death her parents, Louie and Myrtle (Weaver) Pearson; brothers. Bill Pearson and John Pearson; children, Mitchell Ray Griffen, Jerri Ann Griffen, Gregory Allen Griffen and Deborah (Debbie) Raynell Griffen; and many cousins, aunts and uncles.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Robert E. Shaw; two stepdaughters and their spouses; six grandchildren; five step grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions may be made to Parkview Baptist Church.

Ann worked for my dad at JC Penney for many years and was so kind in visiting him in his last days.
I can never thank her enough for all she did for him.
Our prayers are with her family
Robert, I am so sorry for your loss.
Ann was the most caring, loving, and giving person.
I worked under her supervision for 17 years, at Penney’s, until she retired.
She was a great friend and like a second mother to me.
She taught me so much about life.
And one thing for sure is she taught me a lot about our God. And we had some great sessions about him.
After Ann retired we remained close friends. We would talk on the phone all the time. She would have amazing Christmas parties at her house for us girls( as she called us)
Ann you will forever be in my heart.
May you rest in peace pretty lady.
Save me a place until we meet again.
