Albert Earl Taylor, 86, of Bellmead passed away on March 15, 2017.
Memorial Service: 2 PM Monday, March 20 at Lake Shore Funeral Home Chapel, 5201 Steinbeck Bend, in Waco.
Earl was born May 28, 1930 in Gorman, Texas to Charlie S. and Lora (Carter) Taylor. In 1957 he married Alma Mathew in Snyder, Texas. Earl, a retired peanut farmer, farmed and ranched for over 40 years in the DeLeon and Comanche County, Texas areas. He mentored many colleagues and friends on raising crops of peanuts, corn, and cattle over the years. He worked with DeLeon Peanut Company to set up Buying Points in Brownfield, Lamesa and Seagraves, Texas. He loved farming and friends, family and neighbors.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, J.R. Taylor; brother, Euless Taylor; and sisters, Jolene Bennett, Thelma Williams, Marjorie Williams and Merle Boyce.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Alma Taylor of Bellmead; son, Kenneth Ray Taylor of Bellmead; daughters, Elizabeth Ann Taylor of Waco and Joy Lynn Crockett of Hammond, LA; sister, Maudell Poynor of Gorman, TX; and many other family members and friends.

Alma, you and Earl have been special friends of mine for 44 years. It’s hard to believe those peanut fields were that long ago. I can still see his smile and hear his laugh. Memories are precious! I love all of you. I’ll see you tomorrow.

I have many fond memories of the time Earl and I spent working together. He was a good man and always there when I needed him.
