Alejandra C. “Ella” Valdez, 91, of Waco, passed away peacefully Wednesday, July 31, 2019 at her residence surrounded by her children.
Visitation: 6-8 P.M., Sunday, August 4, with the recital of the Holy Rosary at 6:30 p.m., at Lake Shore Funeral Home
Mass of Christian Burial: 11:00 AM, Monday, August 5 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church
Burial: Rosemound Cemetery.
Alejandra was born in Waco to Alejandro and Euophelia Chapa on July 17, 1928.
Alejandra was known for kindness to others and was always willing to help anyone. She was an Avid Cook, She loved to have Sunday breakfasts, She enjoyed listening to music with her friends and family. And she lived life to the fullest. She was married for 44 yrs to the love of her life, Vincent E. Valdez, Sr.
Alejandra and her sister, Consuelo, were a musical talent which provided Mexican music when no local radio stations would play at the time. Their talent provided an opportunity for the communities of Marlin and Waco to enjoy the sounds of their heritage.
She worked at Marathon Battery for 22 yrs. She was an active member at Sacred Heart Catholic Church for more then 60 years and a member of the Waco Missions Recreation Club for 54 years.
Alejandra was preceded in death by her husband, Vincent Valdez Sr.; a son, Vincent “Squeaky” Valdez and his wife, Heather; a granddaughter, Deanna Denman; grandsons, Jeremy Valdez and BK Denman; four brothers, Salvador, Ben, Joe, and Agustine Chapa; two sisters, Consuelo Alonzo and Helen Hernandez; and a special friend, Lee Garcia.
Alejandra is survived by her son’s, Richard, Frank and Gabriel Valdez and Al Fedors; daughters, Louise Denman and husband, Keith “Bubba” Denman and Jennifer Ramos and husband, Michael Ramos.
Alejandra is also survived by her grandchildren, Jamieann, Dylan, Jason, Jackie, Zachary, Paige, Jesi, Felix, Raymond, Rachel, Lindsey, Caressa, Gene and Nicoletti; and great-grandchildren, Andrew, Jeremy, Laila, Maya, Zepplin, Abri, Ryan, Megan, Hannah, Madison and Noah.
Pallbearers will be Zachary Valdez, Dylan Valdez, Felix Valdez, Gene Rodgers, Raymond Gutierrez and Pete Ramirez.
The family would also like to give a special thanks to Providence Hospice.
