Anna Spell passed away on July 28, 2024, at the age of 99, marking the end of a life rich with love and compassion.

Ann was born on May 23, 1925, in Booneville, Arkansas to Walter and Cora Parks. She was lucky to be able to grow up on beautiful farmland, shaping her into a woman of resilience and kindness. Her educational pursuits led her to Nyack College, in New York, where she embarked on a path of lifelong learning. Ann dedicated many years of service at the Waco VA, displaying unwavering commitment and compassion towards those in need. Additionally, she selflessly volunteered in the Mother’s Day Out program at her church, embodying the spirit of generosity and community.
Ann’s interests reflected her vibrant personality – from her love for sewing and reading to her affinity for collecting lighthouse, rooster, and angel memorabilia. These hobbies mirrored her curiosity and appreciation for the beauty of life’s simple joys
A pillar of strength and love, Ann treasured her family and pets dearly. Her departure left a void in the hearts of those who knew her, but her memory remains a source of comfort and inspiration. Ann’s legacy of kindness, generosity, and humor will continue to resonate within the lives of all those who knew her.
She was proceeded in death by her parents, Walter and Cora Parks; brother, Albert Parks; sisters, Audrey Bohlken, Dorothy Henry, Viola Parks and Velma Parks; husband, Rudy Spell; daughter, Deborah Barajas; and great grandson, Orion Pippin.
She was survived by son, Ron Spell; son-in-law, Danny Pippin, grandson, Chuck Pippin, granddaughter, Meredith Pippin, great grandson, Gage Pippin, and many other relatives and friends.
Despite the sorrow that accompanies her passing, Ann’s spirit shines bright through the memories shared by her family and friends. She will forever be remembered for her unwavering love, endless compassion, and genuine warmth that touched the lives of so many. Ann Spell will forever hold a cherished place in the hearts of those fortunate enough to know her, preserving her legacy of love and strength for generations to come.
