Assie Bea Chalk

Assie Bea Chalk, 95, of Waco passed away February 15, 2017 surrounded by her family.

Visitation: Saturday, February 25, 2017 from 1:00PM to 2:00PM at Lake Shore Funeral Home, 5201 Steinbeck Bend in Waco.

Celebration of Life and Faith Service: Saturday, February 25, 2017 at 2:00PM in the Chapel at Lake Shore Funeral Home.

Assie was born December 31, 1926 in Big Sandy, Texas to the late Abraham and Evie Mae Garden Chalk. She devoted her life to Christ at a very young age and was a lifelong member of Brown’s Chapel CME in Big Sandy. Over the years Assie cared for many families and their homes with her loving care and meticulous attention to detail. Assie was a woman of few words but everyone always knew she loved them. Spending time with family, listening to gospel music and traveling with her siblings brought Assie true joy in her life. Assie was preceded in death by her parents, Abraham “Abe” and Evie Mae Chalk; seven brothers; four sisters; and her grandson, Timothy Standifer.

Assie will be remembered with love by her daughter, Gloria Standifer of Waco; brother, Leroy “Jack” Chalk of Tyler; grandson, Eric Boyd of Houston; granddaughter, Bridgette Clark and husband Billy of Waco; six great-grandchildren, Eyeashia Boyd, Erin Boyd, Nyles Moreland, Timothy Standifer, Jr., Brynn Clark and Breely Clark; four great-great-grandchildren, Akhiya Clark, Khidyn Clark, Courtney Washington, Jr. and Elijah Washington; along with a host of nieces, nephews, and close friends. Assie will be truly missed.

Assie’s family would like to offer a special thank you to the staff of Lakeshore Village Nursing Center and Bluebonnet Hospice Care Team, for their loving care. They are a wonderful professional group of caring individuals and their love, support and attention to her well-being is appreciated.
