Bernice O. Easley, 96, of Waco, passed away Monday, June 1st at her residence.
Graveside Services: 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 4, 2015 at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Elkhart, TX with Rev. Dan Manuel officiating.
Visitation: will be held from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at Lake Shore Funeral Home.
Bernice was born June 8, 1918 in Elkhart, TX to the late Robert Lee and Lona Mae (Salmon) Steadman. She graduated Beaumont High School in 1937. Bernice was active in the Military Chapel Program. She loved gardening, cooking, and could always be relied on as the peacemaker amongst family and friends. Bernice was a very spiritual woman and will be truly missed by all.
Bernice was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Wilburn Easley.
She is survived by her son, Paul Allen Easley and wife, Elizabeth; daughter, Myra Dickey and husband, John; grandchildren, Benjamin Easley, Brittany Easley, Chris Dickey and wife, Jennifer and Paula Becker and husband, Brandon; great-grandchildren, Brianne Wilson, Jase Brown, Ashlynn Becker and Paislee Becker; sisters Norma Cady and Oleta Brinton; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Texas Home Health Hospice for their outstanding care, nurses, Brandi Driskell and Nicole McDow, and her devoted caregiver Sheryl Green.

I am sorry for you and your family’s loss.
Your mother and my father may have known each other. My dad was born in 1918 in Elkhart, TX. His name was Horace Lewis.
