Betty Jean ‘B.J.’ Hendrix Burleson, 76, passed away peacefully in her home in Gholson on March 8, 2023.
Memorial Graveside Service: 3pm Sunday, March 26 at Moore Cemetery in Chalk Bluff.
B.J. was born on September 7, 1946 to Ada Irene Garrett Hendrix and Lewis Owen Hendrix in Waco. She attended and graduated from Connally High School. She later received her Associates Degree in business from McLennan Community College. B.J. worked at Hillcrest Baptist Hospital for the majority of her career. She loved the outdoors and horses.
B.J. was preceded in death by her parents, Irene and Owen Hendrix; and daughter in law, Felicia Burleson.
She is survived by her sister, Patsy Stauffer; her oldest son, Joe Burleson, Jr. and his children, Chelsey Hearn and husband Colby, and their children, Felicity and Silas Hearn, Chloe Burleson, Cassidy Burleson, Caroline Burleson, Joe Burleson III and Charley Burleson; her middle son, Ronnie Burleson and wife Gloria, and his children, Hanna and Patrick Burleson; and her daughter, Robyn Burleson Hollas, and her children, Milady and Jake Hollas.

I WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER BJ for her friendship that I had from meeting her through her sister, and her famous cooking she did. Not a trip to FL. That she always shared her dinners and treats with us.
