Bobbye Ann (Dudley) McLean, 89 of Waco, passed away on Thursday, January 25, 2024, at home surrounded by family.

Memorial Celebration:  10am Saturday, February 10, 2024 at Lake Shore Funeral Home with Robert Mills officiating.

Ann was born September 23, 1934 to R.L. and Ruth Dudley in the little town of Trent, TX.  She graduated from Trent High School and went on to Business School.  She married the love of her life, Wayne McLean, on December 20, 1954, with a small wedding at home with family and close friends present. Ann met Wayne while he and his grandmother were having lunch at a café in Merkel and that’s all it took. They were married for 62 years before his death in 2017.  She was known as and lived the life of a coach’s wife for over 40 years and loved every minute of it.  Ann was a secretary for the Waco Independent School District for 38 years before retiring.

Besides spending time with her family, she enjoyed spending time with her Waco ISD coffee group each month as they have done for many years.   Most of all, Ann enjoyed being a “Nana” to her ten grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne; parents, R.L and Ruth Dudley; and sister, Paula Douglass.

Ann is survived by her children, Mike McLean and wife Valoree of Florida, Tim McLean and wife Teresa of Lubbock, Kelly Huser and husband Brad of China Spring; sister, Lynda Duncan and husband Jerrold of Comfort; grandchildren, Justin Adler and wife Bobbie, Saoirse McLean, Ashley Smith and husband Johnathon, Krista Holdbrook and husband Bubba, Matt McLean, Jordan Lynch and husband Stephen, Josh Huser, Kayleigh Kornegay, Zach Huser and Jayden McLean; great grandchildren, Tayler Miles, Kendall Massey, LJ Holdbrook, Rylee Smith, Brody Lynch, Parker Smith, and Emersyn Lynch; a host of nieces and nephews.

The family would like to give special thanks to Sherry and Dixie Huser, along with the Community Hospice of Texas staff.

It is with great sadness that I share this condolence with family and friends. Mrs. McLean was a jewel and always fun to be around! Between laughing and getting ready for football, the memories will last a lifetime. Though life brought distance, she will be missed. My prayers of comfort will continue.

    Respectfully,

  6. Ann was the first person I met in Waco when I came from Chicago to apply for a job in March 1971. She was myperson.. She always was so kind and supportive whether in personal or school matters and taught me things a new teacher needed to know- and especially one new to TX. I have loved her for over 50 years and and still do. Most of all I admired her. Even though I haven’t seen her in several years, she has remained in my heart and prayers.
