Bridget Broome

Bridget Kelly Broome, 45, of Bruceville, passed away Thursday, December 10, 2020 at Baylor Scott & White Hillcrest Medical Center in Waco.

Cremation was arranged and provided by Lake Shore Funeral Home & Crematory

My love, my angel, Bridget Broome, went to be with the Lord, Thursday, December 10, 2020 at 9:09 a.m. after a long hard fought battle with  COVID-19.

Bridget was born in Idaho Falls, Idaho on the 4th of July 1975. A good friend, Richard Shumate, set us up on a blind date in January 2005. We went to Logan’s steakhouse. We exchanged phone numbers and have been together ever since. We married on April 26, 2008 at the Waco Zoo in the fish Aquarium. We were happy and in love. In 2007, we went on a cruise to Jamaica and fell in love even more. She supported me when I was in the band on the road and my crazy hours of shift work at the glass plant and in the process of adopting the children. She was with me through the rough times and the good times.

Bridget was preceded in death by her mother.

Survivors include her husband, James Broome; children, Shawn, Sandra, Richard and Luke; sister, Colleen; brother, Ryan; Dad, Stuart; aunt, Deb; uncle, Jim; nieces and nephews, Elizabeth, Beka, Sage, Jasmine, Damion, Tyler and Elizabeth.

Condolence Messages

  1. While I only had the privilege of meeting Bridget once, her caring and passionate vibe for life as well as her devotion towards her family and friends instilled her memories and “soft presence” in our hearts forever. Bridget played an expediting role in helping me reunite with one of my dearest friends and for this alone I am eternally grateful.

Our heartfelt condolences are extended to her immediate family as well as those who were fortunate to have been affected by her genuineness and, may God continue to comfort and bless us all. 🌹❤️🌹

  2. All of my thoughts and prayers cannot lessen the pain and anxiety you are feeling right now. All I can tell you is that the pain and sorrow will slowly fade but the memories will remain and bring a smile to your heart. They will console you and will help you through the troubling time. In time someone will tell a joke and everyone will smile and remember Bridget with a smile and laughter will return… Bridget will smile on you.

  6. James and family, I am so sorry for your loss! I have enjoyed so much getting to know you and Bridget as a couple on Facebook! It is so much fun finding members of my family that I hardly knew I had until we met on FB. What little time I have had to get to know Bridget has let me know that she was a wonderful, Christ led woman. My prayers are reaching the ears of God on your behalf. I feel like I know what you are going through as I lost my husband, John, of 44 years in Jan. 2019. Trust in the Lord for His guidance and He will see you through!! Love, Kay Watson

Shawn, Katelynn, Richard and Luke, I will always be here for you if you need me. Fly high my sweet friend, until we meet again.

Bridget was a kind and caring friend. She had a great sense of humor . She loved deeply and had a generous spirit. Life took us different ways for several years. We were reconnected just a few months ago. It is hard to believe she is gone. She blessed my life just by being her sweet self. Your family is in my prayers.
