Candace Nicole Cherry passed away peacefully in Waco, Texas at the age of 36.
Memorial Service: 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 6, at Lake Shore Funeral Home with a repast to follow at the Cherry Family home.
Candace was born on August 27, 1983 in Easley, South Carolina to Ruth Ellen Cherry. Many loved ones had a hand in raising and guiding Candace to become the wonderful young woman she was. Candace was a true example of the African proverb: It takes a village to raise a child. Her village included her Aunt Catherine Thompson, Patsy Bowens, and Emma Jean Simpson.
Candace graduated from Easley High School in 2002. She entered the workforce upon graduating, but eventually returned to school to further her opportunities, obtaining her Pharmacy Technician Certification from Virginia College in 2013.
Candace was a friend to all. She loved to smile, laugh, and joke around. No matter how she was feeling, she always made sure to have a smile on her face. Candace loved life and loved all those around her. She was a wonderful daughter, sister, niece and friend. Candace had a servant’s heart and worked tirelessly to help others. Her best quality was no doubt her loving and forgiving heart.
She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Mary and Charlie Bigby of Easley, South Carolina and grandfather, Ford Blassingame, of Easley, South Carolina.
Candace is survived by her mother, Ruth Ellen Cherry of Easley, South Carolina; brother, Travis Cherry of China Spring; sister, Roxie Cherry of Charlotte, North Carolina; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and nephews, all of whom Candace loved and cared for deeply.
The Cherry family would like to thank Providence Hospice Care as well as Woodland Springs Nursing Facility for their care and dedication to Candace during her transition to eternal life with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Donations to your local women’s shelter can be made in honor of Candace.
