Carol June (Brooks) Geil

Carol June (Brooks) Geil, 88, died October 3, 2023, in Waco, Texas. Born March 3, 1935, in Jersey County, Illinois.

She was the daughter of Clarence and Lois (Hefner) Brooks. She graduated from JCHS in 1953 and Alton Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in 1956. On March 31, 1956, she married Gordon Geil.

For many years she owned The Nail Place in East Alton and enjoyed volunteering at Operation Blessing in Wood River.

Surviving her are sons, Tim Geil (Cindy) of Waco, TX, and Dan Geil (Marsha Moore) of Hartford, IL; four grandchildren, Erin (Graham) Musgrove, Kelli Geil, Samantha (Robert) Grodzicki, and Josh Geil; five great grandchildren, Nolan, Hank and Ada Jane Musgrove, and Harper and Teddy Grodzicki, also surviving, brother-in-law, Frank Fulkerson, and two sisters-in-laws, Wilma Brooks and Linda Brooks.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Robert and Richard Brooks; sister, Judy Fulkerson; brother and sister-in-law, Greg and Phyllis Geil.
