Carol June Harmon, 74, of Waco, Texas passed away on Wednesday, December 2, 2015 after a courageous battle with cancer.

Carol, a Christmas baby, was born in Longview, Texas on December 25, 1940 to the late Buster Brown and Mallie Lee Gathright Brown. She graduated from Longview High School and continued her education to later become a Crime Scene Investigator. Carol married the love of her life, Horace Reed Harmon on June 19, 1971. She worked for over 10 years in the Corpus Christi area as a Crime Scene Investigator. Moving to Waco in October in 1985, Carol and HR, continued to be actively involved in their community. They were active members in the Waco Moose Lodge and she was a long time member of the Merak Temple #104 Daughters of the Nile. Carol enjoyed her 17 year career with the Bellmead Walmart. She was a part of the store opening, setting up and stocking shelves then moving to the bakery and later to the fabric department. Carol’s family was her true passion but she was also a talented artist and crafter. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, drawing, painting. Her family will cherish forever the loving mementoes she handcrafted for them. The many family gatherings were made much brighter by her love for singing and dancing. Carol is preceded in death by her parents, Buster and Mallie Brown; her sister, Jerry Brown and her husband, Horace Reed Harmon, who passed away on 2005.
Carol will be remembered with love by her son, Michael Scott Harmon and his wife Anita; brother, Tom Brown and his wife Karen; her pride and joy her grandson, Wesley Reed Harmon; nephew and niece, Jeremy Brown and Bridget Boyd-Ebarb; along with numerous other loving family and friends. She will be truly missed for her loving nature and her courage and fighting spirit.
