Carolyn Duyck Baccus, 79, of Waco, Texas, passed away peacefully on November 7, 2022 after suffering a stroke.

A casual celebration of her life will be held on Friday, November 18 at 6:00 pm with a visitation at 5:15 pm at Lake Shore Funeral Home, Waco, TX.

Carolyn was born in the District of Columbia on April 24, 1943 to David Lucius Duyck and Hazel Ewing Duyck and grew up in Virginia, West Virginia, and Texas.In April 1963, Carolyn married Quenton Hugh Baccus at Connally Air Force Base. During Quenton’s military career, they lived in Orlando, FL; Goldsboro, NC; Rapid City, SD; and Abilene, TX.Carolyn, known to her family as Granny B, was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. Over the years she worked at AAFES, Dillard’s Portrait Studio and also as a real estate agent. Carolyn was always the life of the party and making others laugh, and she adored her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.Carolyn was preceded in death by her father, mother, and half-brother David L. Duyck. She is survived by her husband, Quenton; sister, Deanna Henry and husband Dave of Georgetown, Donna and Mike Muhlman of Robinson; sons, J.R. Baccus and wife Angie, Terry Baccus and Cindy Wills, and Daren Baccus and Lisa Reyna—all of Waco, TX; five grandchildren, Brandon, Kyle, Baylee, Regan, and Hunter; and three great-grandchildren and the other love of her life, her dog, Bear.The family would like to thank the 6th floor and 4th floor nurses at Baylor Scott & White Hillcrest for the loving care they provided.  Lastly, thank you, Jenny, with Scott & White Hospice at Hillcrest for your care and compassion. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Children’s Hospital in Galveston, TX
