Carolyn Bonjonia, 82, passed away Saturday, December 23, 2017 at Lake Ridge Healthy Living with her family at her side.
Visitation: 12:00 noon Thursday, December 28, at Lake Shore Funeral Home, 5201 Steinbeck Bend, in Waco
Funeral Service: 1:00 p.m. Thursday, December 28, in the chapel at Lake Shore Funeral Home
Burial: Waco Memorial Park
Carolyn was born April 25, 1935, in Waco to the late Albert and Ruby Kilgo. She attended La Vega High School where she enjoyed twirling in the band. On February 25, 1961, she married the love of her life, Donald Bonjonia. They met while he was stationed at James Connally Air Force Base. She was a homemaker for many years and then worked at Marathon Battery and Weyerhaeuser after Don retired from the Air Force. She loved dancing and singing with her brothers and sister and Baylor women’s basketball. She also enjoyed making quilts, dolls and spending time with her friends at the Golden Corral.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Ruby Kilgo; her sister, Norma Jean Jackson; and brothers, Albert Kilgo and Richard Kilgo.
Carolyn leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 56 years, Donald; sons, Bill Bonjonia and wife, Kelly and Steve Bonjonia and wife, Laura; brother, George Kilgo and wife, Pam; sisters-in-law, Joyce Kilgo and Nancy Kilgo; grandchildren, Berkley Caitlyn and Austin Bonjonia; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Pallbearers will be Steve Bonjonia, Bill Bonjonia, Berkley Bonjonia, Austin Bonjonia, Randy Cole and C J Smith.
The family would like to give a special thanks to caregivers Wilma Moore, Joann Clark and Uni Murphy and the entire staff at Lake Ridge Healthy Living.
