Clifford (Cliff) Stephens, 59, of Waco, passed away Wednesday, February 10, 2010 at a local hospital. Services will be 10AM Saturday, February 13th at Parkview Baptist Church with Dr. John W. Collier officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 8PM Friday, February 12th at Lake Shore Funeral Home, 5201 Steinbeck Bend in Waco. He was preceded in death by father, Bill Stephens; and twin grandsons, Clifton and Ashton.
Survivors include wife of 35 years, Becky Stephens of Waco; daughters, Shelley Byerly and husband Jeff of Robinson and Sheryl Thetford and husband Brad of Groesbeck; son, Matthew Stephens of Waco; grandchildren, Haley, Luke, and Kadon; mother, Ruth Stephens of Bowie; and sisters, Patty Brothers and husband Lonnie of College Station and Marsha Chaney and husband Thomas of Athens.
Pallbearers will be Parkview Baptist Church Choir.
Memorials may be made to Parkview Baptist Church.
Cliff will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

The Stephens family was an integral part of growing up in First Baptist, Bowie. I remember Clifford kvery well from both Church and School. I know you will all miss him. My condolences to you all.

I am at a loss for words. Clifford and I worked together for several years after I came to Bowie. I, like all his co-workers, enjoyed his special wit and talent to turn a tale!
