Connie Pippin passed away peacefully at home Friday, January 1, 2021 after a lengthy illness.
Graveside Service: 11AM Thursday, January 7th at Oakwood Cemetery with Pastor Landon Collard officiating.
Visitation: 5 to 7PM Wednesday, January 6th at Lake Shore Funeral Home, 5201 Steinbeck Bend in Waco.
Connie was born on June 24th, 1940 in Montgomery, Alabama to Hercules King and Martha (Vickery) King. She was United in marriage to John Lacy Pippin III on May 30, 1958. She was a proud homemaker, raising her two sons, John and Jody. The family moved to Mart, Texas in 1970 to open a new car dealership, Pippin Ford, where she worked with her husband, John, for many years. Connie then returned to college, receiving her Masters of Education from Tarleton State University. Connie became a Licensed Professional Counselor, working at DePaul Center, in Waco, Texas, for over 20 years. Following DePaul, Connie worked in Private Practice and for Texas Youth Commission in Mart, Texas.
Connie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John; son, Jody; her sister,Vicki Rutherford of Dallas; and her sister- in-law, Sheree King of Dallas.
She is survived by her son, John Lacy Pippin IV and wife Brenda of Waco; grandsons, John Lacy Pippin V of Waco, Dr. Philip Anderson Pippin and his wife Emmie of Tyler, Texas, and Andrew Pippin, of Stephenville, Texas; great-grandchildren, Zara, Anderson and James Pippin of Tyler, Texas; sister, Mollie Caldwell and husband Otto, of Woodway, Texas; brother, Bob King and wife Bridgitte of San Antonio, Texas; niece, Dr. Carrie Johnson and her husband JP of Woodway, Texas; and nephew, Hobie Caldwell and his wife Yupin of Austin, Texas; nieces, Wendy Stane of Arlington, Texas, April Noble and husband Wade of Mansfield, Texas, and Angie Dennis and husband Danny of China Spring, Texas. She is also survived by many great nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers are her grandsons, John, Philip , and Andrew Pippin; her nephews, Hobie Caldwell and JP Johnson; great nephews, Jeffrey Jimenez, and Neil Jimenez; and brother-in-law, Otto Caldwell.
The family would like to acknowlege a special thank you to Stacie Jett and Shirley Holder (Visiting Angels), her devoted and loving caregivers these past 5 years, and Texas Home Health and Hospice.
Memorials can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or Journey Christian Community.
