Cora Ann (Bush) Abel, of Waco, passed away Monday, February 26, 2024 after a short battle of cancer.
Memorial Service: 11A.M. Saturday, March 30, 2024 at New Road Church of Christ.
Cora was born June 8, 1941 in Commerce, TX, to James William “JW” & Ura Helen (Smithey) Bush. She grew up in the Stephenville area, moving to Hewitt in her pre-teens. Cora was a 1959 graduate of Midway H.S. She visited California for a short while with her brother and sister-in-law, then back to Dallas, TX. Cora married in 1962 and had four children. The family moved to Crawford in 1975. She was a stay-at-home mom on and off, and working she had warehouse jobs, sewing factories and secretarial positions, Cora loved her family and especially being a Bibi. She loved the color red, sewing, painting and clowns. She was a long-time member of the Lake Shore Drive Church of Christ.
Cora is preceded in death by her parents; son, Michael A. Abel; grandson, William Dalton Abel; four brothers, Thomas, JW, Jeff, and John Bush; and one sister; Janis Evans.
Cora is survived by daughters, Kim Williams (Rick) of Crawford, TX, and Amy Abel of Crawford, TX; son, Alan Abel (Casey) of Crawford, TX; daughter-in-law, Schelly Abel of China Spring, TX; grandchildren, Matthew Williams (Lail) of McGregor, TX, Mallory Bullard (Newell) of McGregor, TX, Trent Abel (Whitney) of Thomasville, NC, Chesney McNamara (Caleb) of Bosqueville, TX, Tate, Eli, Ava, Maden, Kingston and Tess Abel of Crawford, TX; great grandchildren, Emerite, Loklun, and Waylon Williams, Quaid, and McAlister Bullard, Hudson and Hayes McNamara; sister, Eve Jo Barker (Hub) of Normangee, TX; sisters-in-law, Bertina Bush of Austin, TX, and Susan Bush of Grants Pass, OR, and many nieces and nephews.
