Corville Lee Fisher

fisher1

C.L. Fisher, 86, of Waco, went to be with the Lord Monday, November 6th.  He is now reunited with his late wife, Joan, in the loving arms of Jesus Christ for eternity.

Visitation: Thursday, November 9th 1:00 – 2:00 pm.

Funeral Service: Thursday, November 9th at 2:00 p.m. at Western Heights Baptist Church, 6301 Bosque Blvd. in Waco with Rev. Kip Osborne and Mr. Charles Thornal participating. Burial will follow at Mexia City Cemetery in Mexia.

Mr. Fisher was legendary in the automobile business in Waco and surrounding communities for over 55 years, selling ‘thousands and thousands’ of cars to multiple generations of families and friends.  Although that was a great source of pride, his greatest pleasure came from raising his three children and being involved in their activities and sports, coaching several championship baseball teams.  Some might say that he is legendary for his participation in that effort as well.

He was most at ease when gathered with the family in the playroom, listening and playing the piano and guitar with grandkids, nieces, and nephews.  Those were the days!

He was a veteran of the Korean War, being stationed at Yokota AFB in Japan.  Not much for long conversation, he said little about that time of his life.  However, he was encouraged when Pres. Trump spoke from that airbase just this past Saturday.  Pres. Trump’s comments regarding our military efforts during that war gave Mr. Fisher cause to note that ‘he is the first President to acknowledge what we did in order to save the South Korean people from a communist dictatorship.’  It lifted his spirits to have our President make that acknowledgement.  He was steadfast in his support of our military and law enforcement members.

Mr. Fisher was preceded in death by his wife, Joan; his parents, Floyd and Florence Fisher; two brothers, Floyd, Jr. and Harold and sister, Geraldine Hall.

He is survived by a sister, Effie Tilghman; son, Mike Fisher and wife Rachel; daughter, Lori Richardson and husband Bret; son, Paul Comer; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Dear Michael, Lori, Paul and family, our thoughts and prayers are with all of you. May our Heavenly Father cover each of you with His peace and comfort that only He can give and the assurance that you will be together again.

    We love all of you,
    Ron and Brooke Martin

  2. Lori, please accept my sincere condolences in the loss of your precious dad. He always was very pleasant and kind. I enjoyed waiting on him when he came into the nursery. He sold my husband his first truck, something my husband always mentions when he talks about his first truck is your dad and what a great salesman he was.
