Daniel Glenn

Bubba Obit

Oct. 29, 1957 – Feb. 13, 2015

Daniel “Danny” “Bubba” Ray Glenn 57 of Gholson, ended his earthly journey early Friday morning February 13, 2015. His remains will be buried at the Moore Cemetery in Chalk Bluff at a private graveside service.

He served in the United States Army and received an Honorable Medical Discharge in March 1975. His passion in life was playing the guitar, tinkering around on old cars, and drawing.

He was a loving son, brother, uncle, and friend. He was a very simple and unselfish man and would extend a hand to help anyone he could. His favorite saying was “Don’t worry about it, it is what it is,” Even in a frail physical state during the final days of his life, his sense of humor shown through even during his most difficult days, as did his appreciation for his caretakers and concern for the welfare of his friends and family. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, George Calvin “Callie” Spillman and Mae Elizabeth (Wingrove) Spillman; his paternal grandparents, Floyd William (Jack) and Ruth (McEntire) Glenn.

He is survived by his loving and devoted mother and step-dad, Joyce (Spillman) and Donald R. Slaight of Chalk Bluff; his caring father, Harold A. Glenn of Gholson; his caretaking sisters that were by his side until the end, Beverly Ann (Glenn) and husband Bart Gamber of Waco, Lisa Diane (Rowlee) Smith and husband Isaia Curtean of Waco; nieces, Melissa Wright, Rachel Gamber, Megan Hobson, Sydney Curtean, and Monica Curtean; great-nieces, Sadie Wright and Hannah Williams; nephews, Adam Bright, Dillon Smith, Kevin Gamber and wife Kaitlyn, and Brian Gamber; uncle Doyle Glenn and wife Lynn; aunt Colene Caravello; numerous cousins, and dear friends, namely Bridget Hendon-Harris; and Corkey and Laura Cole, who were like his second family.

“Bubba” held a special place in his heart for his niece Melissa Wright. The bond they shared was unconditional and one that only they could understand, a bond that even precedes him in death.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all of his nurses and caretakers at the Crestview Manor Nursing Home as well as Debbie Mathis. In closing we would like to share his last words

The earthly pain is gone,
but eternal life is never ending.

I am dead on earth,
but forever alive and well, with God.

My life on earth,
has come and gone.

Now, the Lord of Lords
can bring me home to His Mansion On The Hill.
