David Lee Ford, Sr., 73, was called home Wednesday, January 18 2023.
Visitation: 6 ~ 8PM Wednesday, January 25 at Lake Shore Funeral Home Chapel
Graveside Service: 10AM Thursday, January 26, at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery
David was born September 30, 1949 in Waco, TX to Dr. and Mrs. Walter Ford. After graduating from University High School, David enlisted in the Army. He served for two tours in Vietnam and received multiple awards including a Purple Heart. David later graduated from Texas State Technical College with a certification in Electrical Power Distribution Technology. He worked for the City of Baltimore until he retired in 2005 and moved back to Waco.
David loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. From cross country road trips with his children to local shuttling of his grandchildren, David enjoyed being a part of all their lives. He always had a big smile and loved to bring joy to those around him, from bad jokes to good margaritas. David was an enthusiastic online gaming aficionado for many years meeting people all over the country. He was a dedicated father, grandfather and friend who will be deeply missed.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. and Mrs. Walter Ford; and sister, Geraldine Kaszczuk.
David is survived by his children, Tara Haberl and husband Paul, and David Ford, Jr., and wife Susanne; grandchildren, Madison, Meredith, Makaelin, Max, Emily, Jacob and Mia; sister, Mary Sue Graham and husband, Michael; numerous nieces and nephews; and his two yorkies, Lucky and Shadow.
