  26. Michael Montoya, Waco, Texas

    To the Pierce family,
    My deepiest condolences during this time of sorrow. I meet Mr. David while working @ Lowes, he was my dept mgr. Never worked for a better person who cared so much for his crew as he did. Glad to have gotten to work an known him, he was a respected leader. God bless you all !

  27. So sorry today to hear of David’s passing. He was such a positive asset in his years at Connally as both a teacher and a trustee. My conndolences to Ruby, Jennifer, and Micah.

    • Thank you, Janice. He loved his years at Connally, in all capacities. We often reminisced about the friends we made there.

  28. Ruby, I never had the pleasure of meeting you. However, in 1963, David, Jimmy and JoNell were my next door
    neighbors. He was such a neat little guy, so mannerly yet was able to join me in aggravating his Dad, Jimmy. I
    moved away when I joined the Highway Patrol. We lost contact until years later we ran into each other at a girls baseball tourney there in Waco where we learned we both had daughters named Jennifer. I know you will miss that great guy. I wish we could have been able to spend more time. If we play our cards right, we will visit again on the
    other side. God bless you, Jennifer, Micah and the grandchildren.

    • Thank you, Jim. I am sorry as well that we never got to meet. He told me about you living next door and was very proud when he learned you joined the Highway Patrol. He was a great guy and we all miss him very much. It has been so comforting hearing from his “old” friends and the impact he made on them.

  29. Lary & Linda Vahue

    Ruby, I wish I could have seen him one last time. My sister just told me.of his passing. Tim Horton and I were reminiscing him just the other day. We had talked about that Subaru he used to have when you lived in North Crest. I had tried to find ya’ll several times these last years. David was such a friend. I always loved him . We had so much fun as kids at Midway. I was so proud of him in the role that he played in that school play when he stole the show . He was there when I needed. I will miss him sorely. I was so happy when you and he decided to commit to each other and get married. Linda still talks about the haircut he gave me for our wedding. Know that he lives in God’s Kingdom, in our hearts and in our memories.
    Love to you and yours;
    Lary & Linda

    • Lary & Linda, thank you. I was wonderful visiting with you and Tim and I hope we can not let so many years pass before we see each other again. I think you all know what you meant to him. There were very few days throughout his life that he didn’t mention one or all of you. Please cherish your memories of him, as do I.
