Don Cox, 87, of Lacy Lakeview, passed away Wednesday, February 5th at a local hospital. Funeral services will be 2PM Saturday, February 8th at Lake Shore Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. James Stevens officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 8PM Friday, February 7th at Lake Shore Funeral Home, 5201 Steinbeck Bend in Waco. Don spent most of his life as an auto mechanic. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with family and friends. Don was a compassionate man who would help anyone in need without expecting anything in return. Don loved making people laugh and smile. Although he is gone, his spirit lives on in the memories and characteristics he leaves behind for his family.
He was preceded in death by a son, Don Allen Cox; two grandsons; parents; two brothers; and one sister.
Survivors include wife of 58 years, Ann Cox of Lacy Lakeview; children, Cathey Lenhart and husband Ed of Spokane, WA, James Cox and wife Fallon of Hallsburg, Nancy Talley of Lacy Lakeview, and Darron Cox and wife Ashley of Lacy Lakeview; 15 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; one great-great grandson; sisters, Vera Long of Tulsa, OK, and Betty Mercer of Waco; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons.
