Dorothy Hightower, 87, a longtime Waco area resident, passed away Monday, March 21, 2011 at a local nursing center. Visitation will be 6 to 8PM Thursday, March 24th at Lake Shore Funeral Home, 5201 Steinbeck Bend in Waco. Services will be 4PM Friday, March 25th at Lake Shore Funeral Home Chapel. A reception will follow the service in the funeral home

Oh Dorothy! How precious you are! You were such a lovely woman! You’ve taught me many things and I’ve enjoyed knowing you all these years. May you rest in peace as you dwell in Heaven with our Lord. May God bless your family as they go through this difficult time, but find peace in the fact that you are walking streets of gold with our Lord Jesus Christ.
What beautiful woman – I am so sorry for you loss. I know her memories will be forever deep in your hearts. You all are in my thoughts and in my prayers.
To the Hightower family: Dorothy is one of my favorite memories from my time at Trinity School and church. I remember her love for the Lord and for the children to whom she ministered. You are blessed to have such a Godly mom. She made such a difference in so many lives, including mine. I know she is in the presence of the Lord she so loved to serve. i so enjoyed Dorothy and Abigail’s friendship at Lake Shore Estates. Dorothy was such an elegant woman and a blessing as a friend.

What a wonderful person Ms Dorothy was. She was always so happy to see Alex and Casey (her great grand children). She loved family, was always helpful and very kind to everyone. She will be missed by so many people.

What a precious, sweet, kind person Dorothy was…
she lived her life with gusto and was a joy to be around…her love of the Lord glowed on her face and through her words. I have wonderful memories from way back. My heartfelt love and blessings go out to each of you in the loss of your mom and grandmother. May God give you peace that she is with Him and is dancing and singing with the angels!
