Dorothy Scarborough Prebosnyak, 86, of China Spring, passed away Saturday, July 20, 2013. A Celebration of Life Service in her honor will be held at 5pm sharp, Tuesday, July, 23rd, 2013 at Lake Shore Funeral Home, 5201 Steinbeck Bend Drive, Waco. Dorothy was born November 25, 1926 to James Mason and Zula (Fort) Bailey in Waco. She was raised in the Seventh and James Baptist Church with Pastor W.W. Milton, and graduated from Waco High School in 1943. Dorothy was very beloved and throughout her lifetime had four husbands. She married her first love, John Thomas Welch, in 1944, and at the conclusion of that marriage, she went on to wed Albert McWilliams in 1947. Her final two marriages were to L.A. Scarborough, Jr. in 1951 to whom she was married to for 18 years, and later Steve Prebosnyak in 1974 with whom she shared 35 years. She began her career at Baylor Drug, and later she went on to serve as an Accountant with several institutions in Waco and Houston, including Waco State Home and Central Paint and Wallpaper, before establishing her own business, L4 Bookkeeping Service, in 1961. L4 Bookkeeping still serves Waco and surrounding areas from China Spring to this day. Dorothy loved all kinds of music, travel, genealogy, painting, and playing games of all kinds, especially playing Bridge at Sul Ross Studio and Waco Women

  11. Dorothy was such a wonderful lady and will be missed dearly. Will miss her letters at Christmas time. Always a pleasure to read about her family through her eyes which she loved very much. I guess she was the last older one from the Fort family? It would be nice to find out.
