Dorothy Yerger, 73, of Lacy Lakeview, passed away Tuesday, October 5, 2010 at a local hospital. Services will be 2PM Friday, October 8th Lake Shore Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ron Oden and Chaplain Ron Hill officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation will be 6 to 8PM Thursday, October 7th at Lake Shore Funeral Home, 5201 Steinbeck Bend in Waco. Dorothy was born August 6, 1937 in Harleton, TX to Herbert and Ellena (Wood) Woodruff. She graduated from Lakeview High School in San Angelo in 1956. She married Charles Yerger on February 15, 1958 in San Angelo. For the next 25 years, they travelled the world with the U.S. military. After military retirement in 1971, they moved to Lacy Lakeview. She then started her working career with American Income Life Insurance Company. She retired in 1992. Dorothy faithfully tended to her husband and her family. She also cherished her dog, Emily. She was a member of Lakeview United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include husband of 52 years, Charles Yerger, Sr.; daughter, Ellena Borel and husband, David; sons, Charlie Yerger, Jr. and wife Sandy, Glenn Yerger and wife Gaylona, and Brandon Yerger and wife Lesly; grandchildren, Courtney, Skylar, Bethannie, Jessica, Ashley, and Izabella; great grandchildren, Kody, and expected

Gaylona & Glen, It breaks my heart everytime I think about what you and the girls are going through. No one knows why you lost this special lady so suddenly but you have to believe that it was in Gods plan. He must have needed a very special angel in his heavens. Only time can make this easier.
