Dr. Gustavo Fernando Poveda, 87, of Waco and formerly of Illinois, died peacefully at home surrounded by his family. According to his wishes, cremation was provided by Lake Shore Funeral Home. At a later date, his urn will be buried at Queen’s of Heaven Catholic Cemetery in Hillside, Illinois.

Thank you Patricia for those kind words about my father. He was a wonderful doctor, husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend. We miss him so much. We will have the funeral on June 28 at 10 am at St. Issac Jogues in Hinsdale, IL

I don’t know why we lost touch, but memories of your Dad always make me smile. WHAT A GREAT GUY!! I can still remember him in the South Holland kitchen trying to wind down after a long day as we all bothered him. What a sweetie! I’m sure you all still miss him daily 😔. They don’t make men like that anymore.
