Eddie Dee Fields, Jr., 71, of Waco, passed away on Thursday, March 26, 2015.
Memorial Service: 1PM Friday, April 3rd at Lake Shore Funeral Home Chapel, 5201 Steinbeck Bend in Waco.
Eddie was born on February 18, 1944, in Waco, Texas to Eddie, Sr. and Thelma Fields, and lived in Waco all his life. On December 24, 1962 he married Patsy R. McClarron, his wife of 44 years, who preceded him in death on January 3, 2006. He was her primary care provider during the 11 years she was an invalid prior to her death.
Eddie worked as a welder for Alamo Steel. All in all, he was a hard man to understand or get along with at times. That being said, he did often enjoy spending time with friends and family, doing what he liked to do most: playing dominoes and listening to the blues. B.B. King and Bobby Blue Bland were two of his favorite blues singers. Most would agree with that.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Patsy Fields; father, Eddie D. Fields, Sr.; and infant grandson, Vance Fields. Survivors include his children, Sandra Fields of Waco, Errol Fields of Waco, Lori Lang and husband, Leonard of Waco, Cynthia Sasser and husband, Rodney of Waco, Daryl Fields and wife, Patty of Plano, Eddie Dee Fields, III and wife, Jennifer of Austin, LaKiesha Fields of Waco, and Tiara Fields of Houston; mother, Thelma McDaniels of Waco; siblings, James Fields and wife, Lawone of Waco, Johnny Melvin Fields of Waco, Norman Gene Fields of Dallas, Thelma Jewel Turner and husband, Wesley of Fayetteville, NC, Delma Fields of Waco, Linda Fields of Arlington, Geonice Lee and husband, Robert of Waco, Curtis Ray Fields of Barstow, CA, Timeka Broadnax and husband Michael of Waco, and Bernnard McGee and wife Sandra of Waco; 29 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 20 nieces and nephews; and a host of grand-nieces and nephews.
