Eddie L. Walker, age 75, passed away October 12, 2022.

Funeral Service: 10am Saturday, October 22, 2022 at Lake Shore Funeral Home, Waco, Texas
Eddie was born May 7, 1947 in Waco, Texas to Tommie Lee Walker and Lillie Mae James. He was a graduate of Richfield High School. After graduation, Eddie joined the United States Air Force, faithfully serving his country during the Vietnam War. Upon his return to Waco, he went to work for Universal Atlas Cement (Lehigh White Cement Company) where he retired after many years of service. Not one to stay idle, Eddie then went to work as an orderly at the VA Hospital where he worked a number of years. After retiring from the VA Hospital, he worked several years as a crossing guard for the Waco ISD.
Eddie was a longtime member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church in Waco where he served on the Board of Deacons. He was an avid fisherman and a collector of various firearms.
Eddie was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister. Those left to cherish his memory include his sons, Anthoney Smith, Demarus Gray and Eddie Walker, Jr.; grandchildren, Torion, Travion and Tylan Smith, Demarus Jr., Alex, Alexis and Layleanna Gray, and Madison and Makayla Walker; great grandchildren, Trinity, Legend and Royal Gray; one brother and four sisters and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Eddie Walker as I have always called him by his entire name has known me since I was a 13 year old hanging with his sister Louise aka LouLou. We were church members at Mr. Zion UMC, so we go way back. Eddie Rest In Peace your labor was not in vain. Family be strong and look to the hills which cometh your help in days to come.

I have known Eddie for over 20yrs he has been coming into my deli at Brookshires in Robinson. Eddie would always have a pocket full of candy but he made sure I had a diet soda. Eddie never missed my birthday I would get a case of soda then. Eddie will always remain near and dear to my heart and he is greatly missed. My sincere condolences to the family.
To the family of Mr Eddie Walker; my deepest condolences go to you in your loss. I worked for many years with Eddie at the VA medical center and he was a joy to work with. He watched over my daughter when she lived in Waco and was a member of his church. Rest well my friend.
