With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Edward Lee Simmons, who left us on Friday, July 19, 2024. 

Funeral Service: 10am Saturday, July 27 at Lake Shore Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Mark Nelson and Brother Adrian Gonzales officiating. CLICK HERE to view the Live Stream of the service.  Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.No visitation is planned.

Edward was born on February 18, 1935 in Mart. He graduated from Moore High School in Waco in 1955. He worked for Leigh Cement Plant for 30 years until his retirement in 1998.

On March 27, 1980, Edward married Barbara Jean Taylor.  He enjoyed fishing, reading the local newspaper, and studying Jehovah’s word.   

Edward is survived by his wife, Barbara Jean Simmons; daughter, Sylvia Denise Simmons; stepdaughters, Kyshun Davis and Midina Fullbright; stepson, James Fullbright (Kelly); brothers, Tommy Patterson and Clearthur Simmons; sister, Sandra Taylor; and multiple grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other family and friends. 

He was predeceased by his parents, Floyd Simmons and Rosie Lee Simmons; and multiple brothers and sisters. 

Edward will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.  “To live in hearts we leave behind is not to die.”
