Esther Polk, 91, dedicated mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, of Waco, passed away Friday, November 30th at a local hospital. Graveside services will be 2PM Monday, December 3rd at Waco Memorial Park with Rev. Kip Osborne officiating. Visitation will be 2 to 4PM Sunday, December 2nd at Lake Shore Funeral Home, 5201 Steinbeck Bend in Waco. Thoughts and memories may be shared in the online Guest Book at www.LakeShoreFuneralHome.com.
Esther was born November 2, 1921 in Clifton to Alvin and Mary (Erickson) Knudson. She married Travis W. Polk on June 15, 1941 in Clifton. She was employed at Sears and Roebuck Co. for several years. She then worked and retired from City of Waco Water Office Department. She was an active member of Western Heights Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Travis W. Polk; and a brother, Wilford Knudson.
Survivors include son, Wayne Polk of Waco; daughter, Cindy Waldrop of Waco; grandchildren, Christin Peel, and Barret Waldrop; great grandchild, Hannah Peel; and a host of other relatives.
Pallbearers will be Wayne Polk, Barret Waldrop, Ronnie Knudson, and Tim Knudson.
The family wishes to especially thank the physicians at Scott and White Hospital in Temple, and her friends for their love and support.

Cousin Esther was a very special woman with a kind and loving spirit. We will miss her wonderful smile and laugh.
