Floyd Price, 85 of Waco, went to be with his Lord and Savior Sunday, July 30, 2017 at the Veteran’s Memorial Hospital in Temple.
Visitation: Mr. Price will be available for viewing, Friday, August 4, 2017 from 8:00AM to 5:00PM at Lake Shore Funeral Home, 5201 Steinbeck Bend in Waco.
Home Going Celebration: Saturday, August 5, 2017 at 10:00AM in the Chapel at Lake Shore Funeral Home.
Burial: Oakwood Cemetery in Waco.
Floyd Price was born on April 19, 1932 to the parentage of Van S Price and Myrtle Poole in Slaton, TX. Floyd served in the United States Army from 1948 to 1952. Floyd attended Paul Quinn College and South Plains College for refrigeration and air conditioning. He was in cement masonry for over 20 years. Floyd served a Deacon and was a member at First Progressive Baptist Church in Lubbock, until moving to Waco. Upon moving to Waco, he joined the congregation at Living Witness Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor M.L. Walker. Floyd loved fishing, family, cooking, and scratching lotto tickets. He was preceded in death by his mother and father; two sons, C.L. and James Barron; and one daughter, Lynn Price.
Floyd leaves to cherish his wife of 54 years, Mildred Price; six children, Pearl (Ferrion) Hicks, Joyce (Glenn) Stevenson, Charlene Smith all of Lubbock, Linda (Calvin) Taylor of Denison, David (Chanell) Smith of Killeen; two sisters, Maryland (Larry) Young of Clemons, Maryland, Robbie B (Doby) Edwards of Wichita Falls; two brothers, Charles (Linda) Hobdy of Lubbock, and Alton Hobdy of Reno, Nevada; 22 grandchildren; 48 great grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
We would like to express our sincere thanks to the many Doctors and Nursing staff at the Veterans Memorial Hospital in Temple, TX. A special thank you as well, to Dr. Long, Dr. Morales, Dr. Bretzing, Dr. Nguyen, Dr. Prakash, and Dr. Stephenson; the nursing staff Brian Adocock, Flo Parker, Jennifer Constancio, Michelle Jackson, Stacie Michaels, Britney Pfad, and William Wrisk. We would also like to thank, Ginger Bohney for all the support and care she gave on Sunday night.
