Lila Frances (Fran) Stratton Gregg, a lifelong resident of Waco, died Saturday night in a local hospital after an extended illness. She was 55. Graveside services will be 2PM Wednesday, October 24th at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 8PM Tuesday, October 23rd at Lake Shore Funeral Home, 5201 Steinbeck Bend in Waco. Ms. Stratton, a graduate of University High School, graduated from Four C Business College in Waco in 1978. She was born Dec. 23, 1956 in Waco. She was a former studio photographer for Larry Robinson Studio.
Fran is preceded in death by her dad, Roy Wayne Stratton. She is survived by her husband, Mark Gregg of Waco; mother, Naomi Stratton of Waco; three brothers, Gary Stratton and wife Judy of Longview; Ron Stratton and wife Nikki of China Spring; Phil Stratton of Fort Worth; two nieces, Trisha LaPierre of Woodway and Alisa Walpole of Waco. Nephews Wayne Stratton of Iowa, Robert Stratton of Houston, James Stratton of DeSoto, Michael Stratton of Cedar Hill, Jeramy Stratton of Fort Worth, Jake Stratton of China Spring and Caleb Stratton of Fort Worth will serve as honorary pallbearers. Among her survivors are numerous grand nephews and nieces and special friends, Patty Pick and Darlene Smith. She was a wonderful daughter, sister and aunt, and a devoted friend. Her memory will be cherished by all.

What a special blessing Fran was to all who met her. We loved her and will miss her. We are so grateful that years ago the Lord had our paths cross. We know that today an angel is walking with our Lord. What rejoicing that must be. Our sympathy are with this sweet family.

I have known Fran since elementary school and I go to church at Kendrick Lane where I have seen her and her mom. Praying for all of you.
I am so sad to hear of Fran’s death. Even though her suffering is over, and we are all thankful for that, the hurt of losing a daughter, sister and aunt is so very painful. I pray you will be comforted by God’s loving arms around you and the peace that only He can bring you.

I will always remember the times when she would take us kids (Trisha, Myself, Robert, James, Michael, and Jeremy) to the park, or to the zoo, or bowling, or feeding the ducks on the Brazos; and afterward she would take us to Mr. C’s quick shop for sodas or ice cream. Great childhood memories.
