Frances Anne (Edwards) French passed peacefully into the presence of her Lord and Savior on October 22, 2024, at the age of 87 in Waco.

Visitation: Friday, October ,25 2024 from 6 to 8pm at Lake Shore Funeral Home Chapel.

Graveside Service:  Saturday, October 26 at 2pm at South Park Cemetery, Pearland, Texas.

She was born on April 30, 1937, in Little Falls, New York as the youngest of six children and graduated as class of 1955 valedictorian at Little Falls High School. Frances was one of nine women admitted to MIT the following year and met her future husband at Inter Varsity Christian Fellowship. In 1959, she finished her undergraduate education by earning a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting at Syracuse University in Syracuse, New York.
She married her beloved husband, Lew on September 5, 1959. After his death in 1995, she worked as a Wal-Mart associate for thirteen years. She was the family genealogist and spent many hours learning about her family history. She loved the United States of America and freedom. She enjoyed gardening, was an avid sewer and knitter, and could often be found absorbed in solving jigsaw puzzles, activities that brought enjoyment to her life.

Frances is survived by her children; Lew Daniel French, III (Alyssa), Theresa Loyd (George), and Lewanne Palmer (Rob). She leaves behind twelve grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and her sisters, Betty Syke and June Pierce. She is also survived by her 19 year old cat, Millie.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lew Daniel French Jr., parents Thomas and Theresa Edwards, Tom Edwards (brother), Barbara Kuhls (sister), and Theresa Ferguson (sister). Frances will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing her. We are greatly appreciative of the kind care of Mrs. French provided by Bluebonnet Hospice and Mercy House. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Samaritan’s Purse or Wounded Warrior Project.
