Frank “Butch” Edward Casey Sr., 79, of China Spring, formally of Barksdale, Texas went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, October 21, 2023.

Per his request, no visitation or funeral service will be held. His graveside burial will be at a later date at Barksdale Cemetery, Barksdale.

Frank was born January 20, 1944 in Barksdale to Ernest and Emma Casey. He grew up and attended school in Barksdale where he graduated May 21, 1962. Soon after graduation he enlisted in the United States Army, where he served two years as a power plant mechanic/operator. After the Army he had many adventures and occupations including oil field worker in Oklahoma, equipment operator, and construction. He worked many years for LUCE Construction in Barksdale, clearing land, subdividing ranches and building roads. Oh, the stories!! Frank was the father to four wonderful children, Trip, Edna (Ree), Frank Jr., and James. He enjoyed watching professional rodeo and football, John Wayne movies and his religious programs. In 2010, after retiring, he moved to China Spring to be closer to family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Emma Casey; siblings, Jean Ivy and Margaret Ann Welch; and son, James Rhea Casey.

Frank is survived by his sons, Trip Casey of New York and Frank Casey Jr. of China Spring; daughter, Edna (Ree) Casey Buro and husband Ricky of China Spring; grandsons, Jacob Casey, Dustin Casey and Brandon Buro; niece, Susie Luce and husband Jeff of Barksdale; nephew, Bobby Covington of Rankin and numerous friends.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to be made to the Meals on Wheels – Waco, St. Jude’s, or any cancer research organization.

The Family would like to give an extra special thanks to Mrs. T. and Ronda for their care at home. Also, thank you to the Central Texas Veterans HCS Temple for their excellent care in his final days!
