It is hard to believe that someone so larger than life is no longer with us. Sugar was the first person we met when we moved to Laguna Park in December, 2000. She showed up at our front door with a welcome cake, (boy could she cook!) and a wonderful friendship was born.
That next summer we joined her in Alaska (poor Bill had to work and missed the fun) for a 10 day adventure… sightseeing, fishing, "a bit" of shopping and a lot of laughing. It was one of the best trips Carl and I have ever had, and we will treasure those memories.
Just a few weeks ago, Barbara Tosch (Mother Red to you Waco folks) and I met Sugar for a birthday celebration lunch. We had a "giggling good time" and promised to get together again soon. I am grateful for that wonderful time, and heartsick it was our last.
Our hearts and prayers go out to everyone who loved Sugar and we grieve with you all. Our lives are diminished because she is no longer a part of them.

We have great memories from the Cedar Break Trail Ride with Garth and Juanita Robinson. Great Times and Great Memories. We will always remmeber Sugar and her pretty smile.

  8. Mrs. Calvert Luedke (J'Ann)

To Sugar’s Family — My husband, Cal Luedke, served in law enforcement in McLennan County for 30 years, and knew Sugar and Bill for a long time. He greatly admired Sugar’s professional skills in the courtroom. I did not know her well, but I always felt welcome in her home at the lake. We both enjoyed her outgoing personality and terrific sense of humor!

Cal died this summer, also,(June 20) of cancer of the liver.I send to all of you my sincere sympathy for your loss — and I know the memory of her laughter will comfort you for a lifetime .

    Penny and Family,
I as well as so many others will miss the spunkiness of Aunt Sugar. You all are in my thoughts and prayers.

  10. Penne. I can’t tell you how sorry we are about your mom. If you care to, give me a call and I will tell you what all she shared with us at the birthday lunch at Red Lobster. She seemed really happy and we had a great visit. I have missed her so much since she moved to Waco and it was great to see her. She looked really good, but did say something about going to the doctor. Barbara and I neither one can remember the details, but I do remember being worried and thinking "This doesn’t sound good". I think she was having or had had some tests done. Hate having such a terrible memory! If I can be of ANY help, getting things from the house and storing them or anything else, PLEASE let me know. I wish we could have been at the memorial service, but we were coming home from south Texas, putting grand kids on a plane in Austin, and didn’t get home until late. I wish we could have seen you, and if you are still in Waco, let me know. Love. Susan

  11. Words can not express the sorrow I feel in my heart. Sugar was a great friend, she was always there for me and I could always count on her to brighten my day. During the times we were neighbors we grew close and once I moved I did not get to spend the time I wanted with her. I will so miss her. I live out of town and will not be able to make the funeral but I want you to know that all of our family sends our deepest sympathy. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

    May God Bless You,
    Tanya and Brian Schneider
