Gary Willis, 64, of Waco, passed away on Christmas morning in the comfort of his own home with his family by his side. Funeral services will be 3PM Wednesday, December 29th at Lake Shore Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Lori Cotton officiating. Full military honors will be observed. A reception will follow the ceremony. Visitation will be 6 to 8PM Tuesday, December 28th at Lake Shore Funeral Home, 5201 Steinbeck Bend in Waco. Gary was born August 27th, 1946 to Henrietta and Rudy Willis of Waco. He graduated from Richfield High School in 1964 and went on to be one of the original graduates from MCC in 1967. He began his career in the US Navy in 1968. His career took him to Vietnam, the Gulf, and Italy amongst many other places. He did three tours in Scotland, during which he met his darling wife Lesley. They married in June of 1990. He retired as a Master Chief in Pensacola, Florida after 30 years of military service. He also retired with a Bachelors Degree from Troy State University and two sons in the Navy to replace him. Shortly afterward he returned to his hometown of Waco to help care for his parents.
